We are now accepting new membership applications, but we have a waitlist of at least one year. Please read carefully.
The Sausalito Cruising Club is located in beautiful Sausalito on the San Francisco Bay! Our mission is to bring people who share a love of the sea and nautical activities together to socialize at our historic easy-going private sailing/cruising club! In addition to nautical activities, our club offers nightly entertainment and a full-service galley and bar for our member’s enjoyment.
The Sausalito Cruising Club is an IRS 501(c)7 private social club. We are selective in our membership. We have 1000 members, drawn from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. We have members who live full time on their boats in Richardson Bay, and others who live in Sausalito and throughout Marin County, San Francisco, and beyond. We have members who live in Hawaii and even in Europe. We keep our dues purposefully low to enable memberships for all.
What is my first step?
If you know a current member of the SCC, ask them to bring you on the barge to experience what our club culture is all about! Spend a weekend afternoon with your member friends sitting on the sunny deck or join them for one of our live music events in the evenings.
How do I Join?
New members are required to be sponsored by two SCC members who have been members for at least 6 months in good standing. Each will be required to complete a sponsorship form on your behalf. Applicants have the option to add a secondary person to their membership. The primary applicant, if invited to join, will be responsible for the yearly renewal and payment of the membership. We are accepting new membership applications, but we have a lengthy waitlist. Currently, the Sausalito Cruising Club is at full member capacity.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Fill out our application using this link: Membership Application Form
2. Have 2 SCC member sponsors (no more and no less), in good standing, fill out a sponsor form on your behalf using this link: Sponsor Form. The sponsor must endorse both primary and secondary member applicants. It is the responsibility of the applicant to send out the sponsor forms and no application will be considered until all completed forms are submitted. We do not have the volunteer manpower to follow up and request the missing forms from your sponsors.
Once your application is complete and all 3 forms are received, you will be added to the waitlist for board approval at our quarterly waitlist review. If you are approved, you will be notified and electronically invoiced for a total of $850 ($250 one-time initiation fee and $600 annual dues). The Board reviews membership numbers quarterly. Please be aware that the SCC membership is at full capacity, and the current wait is at least one year. Movement on the waitlist is based on member attrition.

3. Once your application is complete and all 3 forms are received, you will be added to the waitlist for board approval at our monthly board meeting. If you are approved, you will be notified and electronically invoiced for a total of $850 ($250 one-time initiation fee and $600 annual dues).
**Please note: During your wait period, dues may be subject to increase. New members will be required to pay the current dues and fees upon joining.
